In my ethics class, we hafta examine technological driven ethical issues through different ethical theories as well as religious considerations. A lot of the ppl tend to lump Judaism, Islam, and Christianity in the same general category....just because supposedly all three have the same foundations. That just reminds me of Tony's sermon this past Sunday on Abraham and Romans. If a person believes in the God of Abraham and does not believe in the further promises and revelations that God has given to mankind, then the god that that person believes is not the true God. The righteousness of God is only imputed to us when we have faith in not only what Abraham had faith in, but also in the actual life, death, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Also romans 4:23-24 sez: "not for his sake only was it written that it was credited to him, but for our sake also, to whom it will be credited, as those who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead..." wow, how cool is dat...that God from the beginning had Abraham's story recorded, not only as a testimony for Abraham...but so that Paul can use it to defend the gospel....so that you and i and anyone who read it can have the assurance of the righteousness of God credited to us by faith only!
