we visited the mountain lakes house last week, and it is becoming quite pretty as more trees grow sprouts and have green leaves. :)

Story of the lost shoes

I lost my reebok slippers from going to Home Depot....:( how you say? well, we bought so many flowers that I had to put some on the floor of the front passenger seat. When I got into the car, i had to get in and sit indian style so i wouldn't trample on the flowers....so i left my nice new shoes on the parking lot floor next to the car and we drove away. After we got home and i discovered, upon trying to get out of the car, that my shoes were gone, eculeus kindly offered to go back and look for them in the parking lot. But to no avail, apparently he couldn't find them ever again.....the end.

On the other hand, the flowers turned out nicely....hopefully they'll live!

hwangster, your "christine" bag is soooo cute. :) I think you guys should start your own Ebay store. :D Actually, I've been thinking a while about Ebay stores and what I can sell on one. I didn't really come up w/ a good idea yet. I think i started thinking about such things mainly cuz I was looking for a lot of wedding stuff on Ebay for cheap, and realizing the enormous amount of "wedding" related things sold on Ebay. Some are cute, some are gaudy, and some are just waaaay overpriced. One thing I found that I realli liked was this:

wedding card box: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3268&item=5579721127&rd=1

but look at how much it is (esp. the shipping)! :( :(

I mean, it shouldn't be that hard to make this right?

hmmmm....what can I sell.....

Restaurant plans in Vancouver: This has been a tough one, since I'm so picky about good food. I want to go to places that's unique to Vancouver, so there's been a lot of swaying back and forth over the choices. In fact, yesterday I made eculeus all a couple of restaurants for dinner reservations only to want him to call back to cancel today. Suffice to say, he was definitely not happy w/ me. :P But today after more research on egullet.com and chowhound.com (excellent boards for food research) and a couple of vancouver specific sites, I think I've finally made my choices. :)

Wed.:
lunch possibly at Rodney's Oyster House (featuring dozen different types of very fresh oysters, yum, slurp :)

dinner at West (authentic Northwestern food using fresh and local ingredients, also supposely the best restaurant in Vancouver right now)

Thurs:
lunch at La Gavroche (highly rated French food....we have entertainment card for it!)

dinner....?

Friday:
lunch perhaps at a good sushi place (several choices), or at the Granville Island markets

afternoon picnic at the Grouse Mountains

Dinner at Guu with Garlic (izakaya style Japanes tapas meal....very interesting and yummy sounding) since we might want to stay at the mountains until sunset and wanted to eat dinner later. Might also stop by Hapa Izakaya (if not too crowded), since it's also highly rated.

of course, I will try to take copious pictures of the food. :)

testing BlogThis!

For the past few days, I've been sorting flies....ya know, the little Drosophila ones. I'm looking for orange eyed, curly winged ones out of all the ones that hatched from the mating I set up. Therefore, after spending about 2-3 hrs a day knocking out flies, sorting them under the microscope, and separating them by gender, I started seeing them.....when I close my eyes at night to sleep, I see them in the back of my mind....orange-eyed, curly-winged. Even as I sit here and type, I see them. They are everywhere....

Who's fifi73's new reader?? How come I feel so left out? :(

anyways, i think i get frustrated a lot. maybee not at ppl (or an unnamed person), but at situations or things as well. Well, it probably all comes down to patience (ya know, one of the fruits in Galatians!), I dun have very much of that yet.

On the other hand, when I'm tired, I like it to be quiet and peaceful, not for someone to chatter in my ear incessantly!

"A proverb in the mouth of a fool is as useless as a paralyzed leg." --Prov. 26:7

A proverb in the mouth of a fool is like a thornbush brandished by a drunk." --Prov. 26:9

I wonder what a thornbush is, but I hope i won't be a paralyzed leg or a thornbush. I've begun doing a light study on Proverbs, mainly cuz I read them in the Daily Bible (almost everyday :P), and some of them are so baffling as to puzzle me exceedingly. :D It is very interesting the theme of the whole book, of wisdom vs. folly, and that the personification of Wisdom is God Himself.
